Unfortunately, GT has not sold 2 million console Duke Nukem games. Their press release was a bit misleading....

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 1998-- Following a successful year in which GT Interactive Software Corp. (NASDAQ: GTIS - news) and 3D Realms Entertainment, a division of Apogee Software Ltd., brought the best-selling PC icon Duke Nukem to PlayStation and N64 -- surpassing two million units in global sales across the franchise -- and also unveiled Prey: A Talon Brave Game for PC, featuring its groundbreaking Portal technology, the two companies are gearing up for another successful year in their thriving publishing relationship.

......In what is one of the longest sentences ever written, they seem to be saying that counting the console versions, total Duke sales have surpassed 2 million. This statement makes me a bit nervous, because you would think that if console sales were strong, they would have announced the actual figures.

On a another matter, I am still trying to put together a list of potential 1998 releases by GT. If I am not mistaken, they will be publishing Unreal, Unreal Editor, Prey, and Duke Nukem Forever. Has either a Total Annihilation expansion or sequel been announced? Any speculation on other titles from Cavedog? What about Singletrac? Presumably they are working on at least a couple of titles, but I haven't heard anything yet. Perhaps we will have to wait until E3, but in the meantime any help in putting together a 1998 release schedule would be greatly appreciated.
