GZ - I think you're saying the same thing that I'm hoping for, i.e, that the political situation will not negatively impact the economic wealth of our country. The reason that I'm getting concerned is that I have no memory as to when our political leaders have monopolized the news media as much as they have just recently to defend their positions, (From Shakespeare, "Me Thinks Thou Dost Protest Too Much"). You note Nixon, but he tried to keep everything quiet - This could be more serious! As a follower of TA, you can appreciate that price tells all and that we, in the general public, have no idea "why" markets drop as much as they do, until after the fact! Let's hope that this thing with President Clinton doesn't blow up in our faces!

Also, Globex SP-500 is down (-6.40) as I write this!

Good luck to all of us! Skipperr

GZ:

Good morning.

Couldn't resist a comment concerning Clinton and the markets. As I see it, the up-front, honest interaction may seem simple however, the danger arises from the Clinton administration's tendency to change the subject and divert public attention; an aging but effective propaganda ploy. Questions linger in my mind about other "random" occurrences staged during his administration -- why, for example, did they wait until the Rodney King (second trial verdict was due) to fry the folks at Waco?

Nixon broke under repeated bombardment. Watching Clinton's on-screen behavior and physical appearance suggests, to this observer, deterioration.

Personally I would look to the Near East for a point of diversion, and how would that influence my back-yard Bar-B-Que?

Back to the sideline--

Ciao, Ted
