Cisco has ten times Ciena's market cap, so it would certainly be within range of their buying power. Osicom still only has 1/50th of Ciena's market cap, so Cisco could buy us out with petty cash.

It seems strange to say "Ciena or FIBR". Cisco could buy both!

Of course, it's only a rumor ... What is the Forrester Report? Are they knowledgeable? Respectable?

Food for Thought..

It does make a lot of sense for Cisco to buy FIBR... If they want
to continue to expand and lead...

The question is at what price...

Based on the telecom/connectivity technologies FIBR is already
leading with... NET+ARM (more products to announce), GigaMux,
and the next generation of remote access controller (IQX), and
some other smaller nifty products...

I believe, the valuation could not be less than $480Million.
I don't think it will be a bad deal for CISCO to buy FIBR
for 8 Million shares swap deal...

At 16 million shares outstanding for FIBR, this means $30+ per
share....

IF CISCO does not buy FIBR.. We are surely going to see the next
generation of ASCEND in the form of OSICOM (FIBR). However, going
after a much bigger size of multiple markets:

- ISPs - they do need additional bandwidth
- Telcos
- Businesses like Banks and other large corporations in the need of
higher data bandwidth with their other office locations
- Printer manufacturers. The list is already long here...
- Remote installation device manufacturers like utility meters
- Satellite (?) based applications in Asia

Figure it out....Why is the $480M number nothing for a company
like OSICOM (FIBR).

If it does not get bought out, and if it does execute, and if it
does not mess up... this could be another billion $ company...
like I said earlier : the next generation of "ASCEND"

Just a snapshot of what could be possible...

Hey Scott,

Is this article hot off the presses today? Has the news already been digested by the market or should we hope for a gap up tomorrow?

Grant
