As far back as I can remembers, MSFT ALWAYS warns of slowing earnings etc. Then they beat estimates and so on. So I wouldn't worry about what MSFT said. IBM's earning might worry me a bit.

So when is this big announcement coming?

Byron, according to the WSJ "Heard on the Street" column on Thursday, IBM did not miss their number and actually exceeded by .01 rather than miss by .04. It was due to confusion over a new accounting standard defining "diluted earnings". I think Big Blue may get some of that 8 bucks back on Thursday and might give the tech sector a lift.

Good luck,
John
