Interesting. Big move up today on little news. Could it be that the "whisper number" has hit the street? If so, look for continued inching up until Feb 9 (earnings anncmt). Then, if earnings are very good, a big run up after announcment. If earnings are merely OK, a small dip as those "in the know" take profits early AM.

I think tomorrow will be a big clue as to what is going on. The chart shows an improvement in price support, could be a trend reversal (hooray!) But on the other hand, today we hit the top end of the recent range, and sure enough there was a dip just before close as the range riders closed out.

I predict heavy volume tomorrow as these two camps fight it out. Just my humble opinion. Any comments?

Steve,

KLAC used up all it's luck maybe?<ggg> I think we saw trader action...a lot of people started raking in some profit. We might as well get used to it, people are still skittish about the S---- E--- A--- nightmare, and will take profit on any substantial upward move and reload. Keyword here is RELOAD.

As for our beloved AMAT... I see roses ahead.

Happee happee daze,
