robert
TXN does not care about yesterday (you know "that earnings report")
TXN is looking ahead for better DSP and DRAM !!!
STOCK PRICE ALWAYS LEADS EARNINGS !
Forget the past !
Think of the future !

Bob:

My interpretation:

1. "Whisper" numbers are now lower than consensus. TXN beat the latest whisper number. It's all about expectations.

2. Asia/IBM jitters

3. Big estimate changes = big headlines = big bonuses for analysts in a market that can't remember what happened 10 minutes ago, let alone 10 months.

4. Sales of DSPs and telecom gear continue to boom.

5. Comments from mgmt. about the company sticking with DRAM market which shows signs of stabilization, continued strength in DSP, growing recognition of xDSL market opportunity, rock solid balance sheet. Take your pick.

6. The REAL answer: Any DAY, WEEK or MONTH anything can happen.

Best regards,

Charlie
