I wonder if they sell some of their eggs at Sprouts? I picked up some more SFM Sprouts today on the downgrade and expected lower earnings. Most of what I've been buying in this market is hitting new lows and not new highs. IMO-Being a glutton for punishment is something a value buyer tolerates.
There is a fine line between being contrarian and just buying crappy stocks. I am guilty of the letter myself, but have been much more careful to buy a stock in the hope of some reversal to the mean. I believe the latter has more or less stopped working since the GFC in 2008, at least for many situations I looked at or returns were no better than purchasing well executing companies.

SFM/KR. Big grocery wars in my area. Not sure what I will do with my stub shares of Kroger (KR), which seems to be hitting new 12-mo lows every day. I believe I'll pass on Sprouts for now, and maybe bet more on the bigger KR. KR has its size (number of stores/geographical diversity, private label) as a positive.

I shop both places. I don't like the longer lines at checkout at Sprouts. (They won't open enough registers.) For KR, they have in-store ads for certain items that say if you use their KR app, you would get a discount on the product. That's like telling me when I'm in the store I have to pay more because I'm not signed up for their app. Which I am loathe to do, because they will just bombard my in box, and use my buying info for who knows what other purposes.
