I've stopped chosing which lots of an MLP I'm selling, and just use FIFO,

I forgot how much you trade. I assume most people just buy a full position, and when they decide to sell sell the full position. I agree it sounds incredibly painful buying 20 5% chunks and later selling off 25 4% chunks of a position.

If I ever sell an MLP I definitely just sell the whole thing.

Re: MLPs

I do FIFO accounting too for all MLPs. Been slowly selling out of my MLPs too (maybe 5 positions left) and have done recent Buys in WMB. It's a 5.5% yield and probably ok growth next few years.

T had earnings and stock had sold off but OK earnings and T +3.3%. I sold a few of these earlier this month (after xdiv date). Was going to buy this back in 30 days but wanted at/below $30/share.

Seems like I am in some sour sectors (food, distribution/logistics, retail) bit my recent buys in GOLD doing good +40% since my first Buy in late October 2018.

Not too many reversion to the mean buys but many of my new adds are at/near 52wk lows on what I consider ok dividend payers. This is while many other companies trading at All Time Highs. Not too interested in paying premium price for most anything. I have two small/micro cap special situation Buys but but both have no to little EPS.

My POT stock NEPT that is ramping up for CMD oil production, has hit multi year high now trading at $6.13/share. Have had this for several years and nice to see thiis finally move. Still think this goes to $15/share based on the valuation of other peer stocks in this group. No debt and positioned for growing EPS starting late this year.

FWIW SENEA a reversion to the mean play getting close to that $32/share (mean price). I gave up too early and took $27.26/share (5/24/2019). last $29.40/share . I did Buy some SEOAY mentioned here as a reversion to mean play (and GN value play). Pais $10.33/share (5/29/2019) and believe this is worth $15-$16/share based on GN valuation. Last $12.28/share.

I have been avoiding MLPs for the same reason.

Best wishes,
