RE: bunch of numbers...... and you response was it wasn't that great<gg> I think you are doing some of that selcted reading again. taking in anything you read that backs up your case and not seeing anything that doesn't back up your case. keep it up and you'll be broke in the techs doing this<gg> CPQ has good growth, I knew that would happen. I wanted to know about inventory and CPQ dodged it. H&Q downgraded the stock. Revenue did not meat published estimates & CPQ would not directly answer questions about channel inventory which is a concern of many investors/analysts. As for 1998, The quote of CNBC ammounted to...1998 will be great. That was enough to satisfy the street. Look at what else happened today, TXN missed, IBM Missed, CA made, but forwarned, IBM said next Q is tough, cost them 8 points. CA 5 points. TXN said it would get better and the stock went up, nevermind that they never said it would get bad. But all it seems that the tech sector saw was the CNBC quote. Jim CPQ is in a great position right now, So is DELL. The only thing they need not to happen is weekness anywhere. PC market should grow 10-13% in 1998, 15-18% units. If that proves to be high then these companies will have trouble. I only hope to be positioned at the right time to take advantage of this when it happens. Weather it is this month next quarter or next year I don't know. Neither do you. But sure as the sun will come up tomarrow, it will happen. In the mean time, I must be paitent. Jim
