To ALL:

I've been lurking here for months and appreciate all of the edumakation and information you all post (well, not necessarily all - cRocky <g>).

I was talking with an NEC rep recently on their upcoming laptop and desktop models. I was surprised (and happy) to hear that they will have an internal ZIP available for their VERSA laptop product line in February. It will be in the Versa-II bay format where you can swap the CD, 1.44MB or extra battery out for the ZIP. Not hot swappable yet, but that is coming also. I was more surprised to hear that they were also offering the LS120 in the Versa-II bay format. Why would they go through the trouble?

On the desktop side, they were going to have ZIP and JAZ internals available as options, but none will be standard. He said that there just wasn't enough demand for it. I thought he was nuts, but he doesn't call the shots so I didn't elaborate.

Hoping for great earnings (chalk me up for $.16) and a better Friday.

Regards.
