Uriel,

That maybe true but since there's only one ship it would be best to have one foot on the ship and the other off if you choose. With techs they can take off in a heartbeat. I've been playing both sides of the field with a big long term position which just sits on the ship and a smaller position which I use for interesting day trips. I just checked HK and the damn market is down another 4% which may bode poorly for the U.S. Markets tomorrow esp since IBM came out cautiously. CPQ did have better numbers but more people seemed to be watching Big Blue.

Clever clever. I tried to sell some covered calls today when it briefly hit 33, but was too slow and couldn't get my desired price (too greedy once again.) I too was planning on repurchasing (my calls that, is) on a dip in the thirty range. I suspect many others are playing this thing the same way. If so I may have missed my chance. Oh well, we'll have to see what happens in the early morning hours.

A bold guess (talk is cheap): Market moves lower in the morning, rallies, and closes slightly up. AMAT opens perhaps 1/2 or 3/4 lower than it closed today, moves up throughout the day and closes apx 1/4 higher.

Or not!

E

Don't they usually just count 10,9,8,...2,1 to launch the ship? That's pretty fast to me. Well, fortunately most of the ships come back. ON a serious note, I couldn't agree with you more about what you learned in trading. It's absolutely true. If you feel you missed the boat, don't chase it because there is another one right around the corner.

Uriel,

Good call! The stock seems to be retracing prior to its' next
run above $34, IMHO.
