There is a lot of ridiculousness going on somewhere regarding HEC. You dont need to look further than Seven Seas to know that there is a lot of oil in the Magdallena, where HEC has a large amount of acreage under contract. Also, we have seen recently some very savy investment fund engage in a financing transaction on three wells which have yet to be drilled in this contract area. They would have looked at a lot of info in order to make that determination to invest. George Soros just bought a more than 7% percent position in Seven Seas. There is no doubt about the credibility of the oil potential in this contract area. As to whether Catalina has the goods or not, we will see. But have no doubt at all that HEC is a serious exploration play with huge potential and very competent management. Remember that Columbia has a disproportionate amount of billion barrel reserves-witness Cusiana and Cupiaga. British Petroleum and Amoco are not there for their health.
