Good question. I think maybe the lesson here is tolerance. Tolerance of other people and their opinions, but within the constraints of the universal values that are enshrined in the Constitution and other universal values that you might find in Christian and other religious teachings, such as: do unto others as you'd have them do unto you do not lie do not steal do not kill do not be envious of someone else or their things Really, they all boil down to many millennia worth of human rules for living in and growing a civil society. We all seem to have forgotten those rules or maybe this generation was never taught those rules.
