Good question! Many in Northern Ireland would love to become part of the EU nation of Ireland. Some protestants would not. Scotland, which voted remain against Brexit, is insisting on another referendum if there's a hard Brexit - so they too can leave and join the EU. So what's the problem ? ? ? ? . England is adamantly opposed to both of these regions leaving the UK and joining the EU. This is just as predictably daffy as their insistence there be "no hard border with the EU after Brexit". England does have all of their nuclear weapons and submarines stationed in Scotland, yet Scotland is more than willing to maintain this situation by leasing the bases to England for £1 annually. What a great deal ! England also obtains almost all of it's oil and gas from Scotland, but Scotland is more than willing to continue selling England oil and gas in return for Euros, as they'll have virtually no need for Pounds. . If both Northern Ireland and Scotland join the EU, Wales will almost certainly want to leave the UK and join the EU as well. Welsh farmers, most of the population, are very happy with the EU and are afraid urban British voters will take away their protections and farm subsidies. Imagine the sentiment of Midwest farmers forced to join the new nation of "Greater Chicago". In this instance it's the new nation of "Greater London" A hard Brexit will also leave Brtitish retirees living in Spain without any Medicare coverage until after they move back to England for one year and a day. Boris Johnson and his daffy English followers want a Brexit, but an imaginary Brexit which doesn't exist in the real world.

In a tense call with Irish Prime Minister, Mr Varadkar, yesterday Mr Johnson made clear that the EU must agree to scrap the hated backstop - designed to avoid a hard border if no other solution can be found - for negotiations to re-start. But speaking to the Irish Mirror today, the Taoiseach (PM) said he was 'absolutely not' going to give in to the demand. 'You know Ireland isn't going to be bullied on this issue and as a Government and as a country, I think we are going to stick by our position. Brexit wasn't our idea,' he said. Boris Johnson clashed with Sinn Fein in tense talks at Stormont today as he was warned 'catastrophic' No Deal Brexit would make a referendum on reunifying the island of Ireland inevitable. During a gruelling first visit to Northern Ireland as PM, Johnson pledged to honour the 'letter and spirit' of the Good Friday Agreement as he pushes through the UK's departure from the EU which will make a hard border inevitable. Mr Johnson faced fury after again insisting that Brexit must happen by the end of October 'come what may'. Speaking after her discussions with the premier in Belfast, Sinn Fein president Mary Lou McDonald said Boris Johnson views the island of Ireland as 'collateral damage' and thus we warned him a referendum on reunification was looming.
