I have a neighbor that wants to know if it was easier to get your Lying-Libtard registration card by being a goatfukker like the liberals on this thread after you renounced TRUTH and Cruz and conservatism?

He's an independent but he might want to vote for Marianne Williamson, but he's really not into goats or sheep or Canadian Moose.

Brumar,
States generally have the right to determine who can run for office.

The Constitution says that the president is elected via the Electoral College, not by the state legislature. And the electors are decided upon via popular vote in the state.

Using your "logic," the state legislature can simply eliminate every other candidate from the ballot except the one that it chooses. Might as well just eliminate the vote for president.

No judge or Supreme Court justice would ever advocate this. It goes against the very spirit of our elections as well as two centuries of tradition.

And for what? Just to see tax returns? If the state legislature can come up with something so mundane and arbitrary, it can come up with any rule whatsoever, like "No billionaire should be allowed on the ballot" or "No one who is actively being investigated by the FBI should be allowed on the ballot" or "No one who praises a foreign despot should be allowed on the ballot."

You can come up with just about any excuse.
