Hi Ron,

That sucks.

We had a company install them in The Woodlands. They were taken out after about a year, no one paid them.

They were losers. Who can prove who was driving?

Technology gone wrong.

Technology must be adopted and embraced , not imposed.

One time a Texas Trooper gave me a 90.00 ticket for no seat belt. I asked him if this was really a high priority for Texas Trooper to be pursuing and was a bit less than respectful. After paying the 90.00 bucks, I cooled off and decided to make a lesson out of it.

Two weeks later I had a head on collision with a person at about 35 mph each way. I had my seat belt on and totaled the Honda that hit me. Her insurance company paid me retail and I made about $1500.00 as the company bought my truck. It was her fault and was ticketed.

I then went to the state trooper office and asked to see the trooper who I gave a hard time. I told him I owed him a big Thank You and maybe my life. We shook hands and he said no one had ever done that before. We left shaking hands.

Just my story, but there always is a good lesson to learn in life.

Hope you sleep and heal well.

Bob

The automated photo radar is nasty. The next town over from me has many of them set up at intersections to catch people who run red lights, or more to the point, to catch those don't make it through the intersection before the light turns red.

I'm nervous every time I drive there. I'm not in the habit of speeding through intersections, but every time I approach one there my eyes are on the traffic lights to make sure it doesn't turn yellow as I get close. I try to avoid going to that city as a result and do so only when necessary.

Apparently you can look up the revenue they make from the photo radar system, it's millions of dollars every year.

First a photo radar ticket and now this. SEE:

You would not believe what happened today. I had an Amazon.ca rewards card for years, then about 3 years ago they said they were pulling out of Canada and you could no longer charge to the card, but you would be required to pay the monies back. So for years I was paying the minimum payment of around 50 bucks and today I got 2 letters saying they are forgiving my balance and I am not required to pay them back. I called them and he said they are closing all Canadian operations and closing all accounts and I am not required to pay anything. The balance is forgiven. I said that is like winning the lotto, he laughed and said lots of others have been saying that as well.

Well its nice to get something positive in the mail. I wonder what Fridays mail will be?
