as an ASND shareholder I'm not sure I can agree that we shareholders got screwed; I think they did the only rational thing a management could do under those circumstances since there are no products without the talented people to design and produce them. Here in the Bay Area, home of Silicon Valley, the shortage is so severe that engineers can take a walk any day of the week and find alternative employment within hours. Retention of that primary asset base was and is crucial.

It also was crucial is MA where a number of (Cascade) people left on their own volition. I presume that Cascade people had their CAscade options converted to Ascend options so the need was just as compelling.

If you hired on with the expectation that your options were going to make a great addition to your net worth, wouldn't you be totally bummed to find yourself with worthless options? Again, we shareholders came out well in either event - the options were going to be exercised if the price hadn't fallen, and we are no worse off now that they've been repriced.

It could happen to MRVC some day and I'd hope that mgmt. would do the same thing.
