Your argument is simple. There were no rich republicans in the South and therefore none of them owned slaves. You're saying republicans in the South went from 1776 to 1886 and none of them were wealthy.

Then you're saying every single person in the South was a Democrat who created the KKK. Not one republican? Really?

In the real world, Democrats and republicans owned slaves and both fought to ensure slavery in the South.
