You could make that argument on the El Paso shooting.

I don't think you could on the Dayton one, given the guy is a Warren supporter and really just hated Trump.

It's not apparent to me how immediate impeachment hearings would potentially achieve your end, that is, to "prevent further slaughters." Even if one assumes that the shootings are all Trump's fault, impeachment hearings would not get him out of office appreciably faster, if any faster, than could the election nor is it clear that the hearings would reduce his chances in 2020. The spectacle of the hearings might even be counterproductive by stimulating further animus.

In that statement I'm not arguing against impeachment hearings, only being devil's advocate re their likelihood of achieving your end.
