if you try to apply lessons learned from 75 years ago don't
forget to extrapolate in... facebook, twitter, google, cell phones,
satellites, nuclear weapons, AGW, donald trump, revised history,
propaganda, a much larger population and the changes in culture
that have taken place since then.

history never really repeats itself. if we think it does, we're not
paying enough attention to the NOW.

this is not a movie. there is no script. good luck trying to write
one using flawed history from 75 years ago. playing the hitler
card NOW is like the church lady on SNL playing the satan card.

just my two cents. your mileage may vary.

There have always been NAZI's in the USA since the 1930's.

It has become a relatively small (but loud and deadly) association.

A tragic reality, but not a simple left-right thing, or a Democrat-Republican fit, or, OMG, an anti-Semitic or anti-immigrant Final Solution.

Like all terrorist tribes these new Nazi's are angry brainwashed sociopaths with a purpose; who believe their (ugly, hateful) ends-justify-the-means.

I think the broader slow rise of fascism in all aspects of our lives is the true underlying threat. In the USA and other regions including China. The disinformation, the fear to express facts and thoughts, and the rise of behavioral technology emanating from the most powerful interests plus the amorality of personal data-for-sale from Facebook/Google etc.

Trump is sending us down the slope to a corrupt fascism, not to become The Fourth Reich.

It is still a terrible thing, but Republicans (and purple Democrats) are not becoming NAZI's. The US leadership (Trump/McConnell/Hannity) is phucked-shit right now -- it is not Germany approaching WWII. Don't underestimate the power we the people still have.

Caution is good.

Facts and challenge are critical.

History and change are constantly happening on this river of life. Do not let fear of NAZI's overtake us on the journey.
