The Luby's shooter killed 24 and injured 27. With a Glock 17 and a Ruger. Don't be ridiculous.

In 2017, in the US, there were 39 gun murders a day, or 14,556 total. Rifles of all kinds were used in about 400 of these murders, just around 1 per day. So, maybe around 2.7% were rifles, and about 1/4 of those were assault rifles, or just over 1/2 of 1%.

I'm thinking your focus is way off base here.
