"You do realize that 90% of Ross Perot voters are now Trump enthusiasts?"

I did not, but in retrospect it kind of makes sense. The key differences for me were that Trump has not led an ethical life, is a braggart, and when he said that he was going to "drain the swamp" and other such things, I never believed him. Parts of Trump's message I liked, but I figured it was all smoke given the mouth that the message was coming out of.

Also, I fully admit that free trade is good thing, on the whole, when taking into account the people benefitting in other countries. And that my reasons for supporting Perot were notably self-serving.

I've spent a good portion of my career in competition for jobs and salary increase with people from oversees and made friends with them as well. Would I be better (or worse) off financially today without that competition? Most decidedly better as near as I can figure. Were my coworkers rom overseas and their families given better opportunities and lives as result of being able to compete for jobs in the US? Most decidedly yes...
