From Reagan on the gop has been hell bent on undoing Social Security and Medicare. Reagan called it socialism. Reagan wanted tax cuts for rich folk so they and only they'd have power. Bush did the same. Trump is doing the same. Did any of them leave office with balanced budgets even though they call themselves fiscal conservatives? Nope, they all created record deficits and republicans were fine with it. When the economy collapses they can get rid of SS and Medicare. They're doing this on purpose. It's called "starve the beast." Basically it means they need to bankrupt the country in order to pass their oligarch agenda.
