GARY...

Thanks for being big enough to admit you were "slightly" out of line...

My .02 on this issue is that I read all of the posts... and think I learn something from all of them BUT your posts are far and away the one's that I pay the most attention to... Keep it up... This thread may not be "yours" but it certainly needs and appreciates your information and effort...

Gracias...

JD

Somewhat OT - To Gary, and all my fellow Technogeeks -

Gary, I thought that was a gracious apology, with just the right amount of contrition. (Not a huge amount of contrition, for not a huge offense.)

Fellow Technogeeks, you have to admit that sometimes we do get carried away with the fine details of this technology vs. that. While these details may influence the computer peripherals market and/or Iomega's stock price over time, I can certainly see how a person with a trader's mentality, and thus a closer horizon, would find all our debates irrelevant.

Of course, trading in and out is NOT the only way to make money by investing, as many of the richest people in the country can attest. But some people, including Gary and the charming Trufflette, can stomach no other approach.

I guess we all know what I'm posting here, so I am cluttering the thread once more. I'm glad to see that the thread is settling back down into the tolerance mode. Everybody had better keep playing nice, because I have written a little piece of HTML code, which can be embedded in a post, that sends an electrical shock to the reader via the keyboard or mouse. ;-)

- Allen

PS: BTW, I prefer "nerd." At parties, when people ask what I do, I say I'm a professional computer nerd. Reactions to that have changed over the last few years, from "Oh, you shouldn't put yourself down like that," to "Cool."

Gary: Isn't the function of this thread to help all who are
interested evaluate IOM? Sometimes, feelings are good indicators.
The board here and at fool.com have helped me. To be candid, I was
unaware of the ZIP and it's uses before I bought IOM. Tony who would
rather be in Aruba helped in my selection of a ZIP plus. What a neat
device. I just wish I had something to do with the 10 or so boxes of
1.44 disks.
I looked at your rather interesting profile and must come to the decision that you are not completely pleased with your credentials. That is too bad. We are what we are and that does not make us any the better or worse in the scheme of things.
I have enjoyed your comments in my few days on this web site.
Keep up the good work.
