I saw a Stanford Resources report on the Proj. Display industry. Their 1996 predictions were $2B for the market with CAGRs between 20-30%. Of that $2B, $1B was slow growth old-style CRT projectors, and the other half used SLMs like DMD or p-Si/quartz.

It's a big plus that DMD/LCD still has $1B of free revenue growth as they wipe out CRT (which is mostly fixed installations and in the home theater environs). I also think the home theater market can be grown by replacing existing direct view CRTs by price reductions which will come in time (I have no idea what the present TV market size is, but it must be $50B or more), although the fight will be on with Plasma panels for that market.

On top of that, every travelling salesman will need a Litepro to keep up with the Jones' on the roadshows.
