Clint, >FYI, price of dual-mode(PCS1900/AMPS 800) QCOM phone dropped from >$250 (offered by PrimeCo & FON) in Dec./early Jan. to $150 to $200 this week >in DFW area. According to PrimeCo, Q-phone is not selling well but the dual-mode >H/S is hot. Sony's Z-phone sells for $400 but I am sure it will be $250-300 in a >couple of months. Someone told me that he thought that a Q-phone from QCOM would retail for $700 CND if it were not subsidized by the service providers. That may be a number based on the old manufacturing cost by QCOM though. Someone on the LU thread said the Chairman of LU appearred on CNBC. He reports that he does anticipate a slow down of demand for equipment by the RBOC's. He said the trend was towards buying complete systems from a vendor and thought any slow down would be for smaller companies that do not offer a wide range of products.
