Unfortunately, both sides have vested interests in blurring the line between handguns and rifles. Agreed. A neighbor and I just went into a new range less that a half mile from us. (Nice and clean and no bullet holes in the walls yet :--) The walls were filled with the rapid fire rifles that looked like M16's and AR 15's. I looked at him and said "why would anybody want those?" He agreed with me. When the employee asked me what I was looking for I explained to him that my wife can no longer handle the 20u Remington shotgun, and has trouble with my Ruger 9mm slide on the semi automatic. The last trip to the range it pinched her skin and she was bleeding profusely...therefore I wanted a revolver for her. Here comes the ironic, but true part. He told me about a newer Smith and Wesson "easy slide .380" for women and pulled it out to demonstrate it. It pinched his skin by the thumb and he was bleeding profusely on the floor and cabinet glass. I thanked him for proving my point, and he took it in stride. I just don't see the need for the high powered auto or semi auto rifles, but I'm not a hunter nor an expert. If it was the guns killed people for no reason, NOONE would be around since we have so many, so I don't know if outlawing them is the answer and as the knife post proved. When you are dying from an attack by a nutcase, does it really fking matter what did it?
