Good Morn Margaret, Yes It looks like Microsoft is now going to be in the spotlight as some spokesman made the same worrisome orchestrated announcement that IBM made after the market closed. The markets overseas this morning does not like it and we are probably going to feel the effects of it this morning. Thursday January 22, 4:08 am Eastern Time FTSE 100 drops one pct on Asia, Microsoft worries LONDON, Jan 22 (Reuters) - The FTSE 100 fell one percent early on Thursday after the latest bout of Asian market weakness and amid concerns that Wall Street may weaken further. The FTSE 100 index was down 50.3 points, or 0.95 percent, at 5,222 by 0903 GMT, led by a 3.4 percent drop in Anglo-Hong Kong banking group HSBC Holdings (0005.HK) (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: HSBA.L) in the wake of a 3.9 percent drop in the Hang Seng. After the New York close on Wednesday, Microsoft (MSFT - news) warned that the region's economic woes will hurt this year's results. ''People don't like the look of the market at all today,'' said the head of equity trading at one leading brokerage. "We're in for a choppy ride," he said.
