Hi Holger: Re: MSFT Yes, I do still have my MSFT shares and am planning to keep them for a long long time, and if for any idiotic reasons (such as these absolute ridiculous and idiotic allegation against president Clinton) the market comes down and MSFT shares come again below $125 I will be buying again a lot (given of course my availability of cash!). As for the earnings report it is very very impressive. Europe seems to be about 2 years behind the US in information technology evolution and that is why we will continue to see big demands by Europeans for the US technology (MSFT being one of them), and this demand will (in my humble opinion) carry the earnings growth through the Asian crisis and by the time European demands slow down, Asia will be back up again. Now there are aguements that if Asia is not doing so well then Europe can not possibly do good either. I find this to be a bit naive (to state the least). Eastern Europe, in my opinion, is the big replacement for Asia! There is also talk of earnings slow down (inot in terms of volume but rather profit margins) for the PC makers (due to sub $1000 PCs). But the fact is that will not effect Microsoft. Wether it is a sub $1000 PC or a $20,000 PC, Microsoft continues to sell it OS (windows 95 and soon the so called 98) at about $40/license! As for NT, this is going to be a huge hit. As Sun's thin client/server centric computing model spreads, servers will grow at an unbelivable rate and NTs are the perfect server OS to be used as the middle tier in a combination of UNIX clusters as the back end. And of course Microsoft's continues expansion in the telecommunication and media to take advantage of Sun's thin client computing will be another money making machine for Microsoft. So in my humble opinion take advantage of any negative spin you hear placed on Microsoft causing the price to decline (hopefully under $125) as an opportunity to buy its shares. Regards, Addi Jamshidi
