RE: Whisper Number -0.03 ?

Cameron,

>> All the analysts are so concerned about companies meeting the WNs, apparently more so than meeting "official" analysts expectations, so let's scream this one out, if it's not too late: -0.03! <<

Unfortunately, the reporters pick the largest, wildest number that anyone can come up with. That's the number that will be used as IOM's whisper number. Your -0.03 won't even be noticed. <G>

Actually, I think they just take a wild guess at it based on the direction the stock moves after earnings are reported. If the stock moves down, the whisper was higher. If the stock moves up, the whisper was lower. (Gee, maybe I could be an analyst!)

Iomega will really have their job cut out for them trying to beat even the analyst numbers. Isn't 0.11 their best quarter ever? 0.16 is 45% higher. That's also more than double 4Q96.
