hi ant, whilst I myself promised to not directly address the dredges of all sorts, and am in position to shelter this thread from the sorts that make this planet worse, I can see no particular reason why any one of this freedom thread cannot talk about any topic they wish as long as harmony is maintained.

I am also good to respond / kibitz on posts of others of this thread w/r to anything.

exploring the edges of the the envelope of harmony and tranquility is assuredly encouraged, else what is the point?

besides, insulting and critique share such a thin line; we are not, after all, here to police point of views.

and, should the thread for any reason go haywire, and only after warning to provocateurs, more selective and astute banning based on whatever at the time should easily restore peace, harmony and light, etc etc

do we not love rule-of-law :0) per rule-by-making-up-rules

bottom line, we are for free speech and open exchange of views

sarcasm / insult has a cannon between them

critique / insult share a thin line, but a line

and at times, insult is not insult, but only calling out the obvious truth

cretins, morons, dullards, imbeciles, cretins (oops, already mentioned that flavour), math-challenged, history-doesn't-matter, and fake-news provocateurs must be exposed for what they are, human slugs

did I mention cartoon characters and pole-climbers?

2020 should be fun fun fun and this thread should not miss the excitement due to unwarranted censorship rules, else relevancy vaporises

open exchange amongst the threaders so that all can get something out of it

non-threaders? who are they? oh, yes, either the unaware and prospective participants, or, presumably, the dredges

French company liable after employee dies during sex on business trip

A French company has been found liable for the death of an employee who had a cardiac arrest while having sex with a stranger on a business trip.

A Paris court ruled that his death was an industrial accident and that the family was entitled to compensation.

The firm had argued the man was not carrying out professional duties when he joined a guest in her hotel room.

But under French law an employer is responsible for any accident occurring during a business trip, judges said.

The man, named as Xavier X, was working as an engineer for TSO, a railway services company based near Paris.

He died at a hotel during a trip to central France in 2013, as a result of what the employer called "an extramarital relationship with a perfect stranger".

The company challenged a decision by the state health insurance provider to regard the death as a workplace accident.

The provider defended its position by insisting that sexual activity was normal, "like taking a shower or a meal".

In its ruling, the Paris appeals court upheld this view.

An employee on a business trip is entitled to social protection "over the whole time of his mission" and regardless of the circumstances, it said.
