Dell plans to double its manufacturing capacity in Ireland

Dell Computers, based in round Rock, announced plans to double its manufacturing capacity in Ireland to meet sales demand, which is currently growing at 45 percent a year.

The $25o million investment creates 2,400 jobs in Limerick and 600 jobs at its sales and telephone-based sales center at Bray in County Wicklow.

The company, which also manufactures in Austin and Penang, Malaysia, currently employs 1,400 people at its Limerick manufacturing plant.
