I think you are right that China's totalitarianism is weak in the long run as people will continue to flee with their talents and money.

But if there's nowhere to flee to because the dopey democracies vote themselves opm then it might be that China wins.

The answer is Tradable Citizenships. That makes incentives right.

Hong Kong is about to be murdered into submission. The Hong Kongers can see the trend so come out en masse. But Mao's dictum about the barrel of a gun will put them in their place.

Hong Kong should assert independence, call for help from the USA and UN. Photocopy Singapore's constitution with a few adaptations. Federate with Singapore, Greece, Taiwan, England, Japan, South Korea, etc in a greater east Asia co prosperity sphere with Euro characteristics. Scotland and Quebec might like to join too.

Tradable Citizenship rulz ok.

MEGA ... Make England Great Again. And Greece.
