There's a feeling that management isn't doing its job. I tend to agree with them. While 20 years isn't too long of a time for a RBOC, it is for an internet company (heck, you're not even 10 years old yet!). The deal to get fiber just looks worst and worst- orbital backbones will be in place within 5 years, and who knows what next?

I think an important factor to look for is how well PSIX do in report time- possibly window-dress themselves enough for a better offer?

Let's face it...PSINet is Schrader's personal hunting ground. Any resemblance to a publicly held corporation is purely accidental. If there's anyone left out there who still believes this game is about share value rather than an exercise in pure ego gratification, then think again. I'm telling you that Uncle Bill does not share our concern about share value anymore than Captain Ahab fretted over the welfare of his crew.

What the hell does he need us for? Oh that's right, he needed our money once upon a time. The market's going to beat him over the head today for sure but I doubt it will beat any sense into him.

Even the press release was dripping with arrogance referring to "some company called US Internetworking..." Yes, it's a shell but I'd sooner put my money on a shell owned by Digex' McCleary than a gold mine run by Uncle Bill.
