If someone who +already has a relationship* with a foreign agent under investigation by the FBI voluntarily approaches the FBI with said contact the FBI may agree to obtain information from such a person 3. Any information provided by such person would be documented in a highly classified case file and vetted against other known information. The person would be handled by at least two agents. There is no such thing as a “nonstandard agreement” 4. The fact that Maria Butina identified herself as an agent of a foreign power (who was “being groomed as a future president of Russia” ?!?) and a foreign national would have made her fair game for a FISA order — in which case her communications were being monitored 5. She was indicted for being an unregistered foreign agent and CEO rando was not even mentioned which tells me he was not a central figure in the investigation 6. Not sure what his issues are but from his interview with @ChrisCuomo Payrick Byrne said he still has feelings for her and apparently believes she might still be the next president of Russia (does Putin know this??) so maybe he needs to still sort some things out
