GM,

I don't use price supports/resistances as my primary indicators for determining overbought/oversold regions. I use other indicators such as stochastics etc which are momentum based. In my model, a stock can gain/lose momentum resulting in overbought/oversold conditions while the stock price has fluctuations of varying sizes. Thus, the stock price is not the primary indicator of overbought/oversold condition in my model.

Other people use TA in different ways and have different interpretations. My philosophy is : if it works, go with it!

I hope I answered your question.
