Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.
ITEM 1: MIT reported, "For the world’s estimated 1.8 billion Muslims — roughly one-quarter of the world population — making a pilgrimage to Mecca is considered a religious duty that must be performed at least once in a lifetime, if health and finances permit. The ritual, known as the Hajj, includes about five days of activities, of which 20 to 30 hours involve being outside in the open air.
"According to a new study by researchers at MIT and in California, because of climate change there is an increasing risk that in coming years, conditions of heat and humidity in the areas of Saudi Arabia where the Hajj takes place could worsen, to the point that people face 'extreme danger' from harmful health effects."
We are making it hot in the desert. No word in the press release about the thousands of people killed in stampedes at Hajj over the years.
But now questioning climate change is officially Islamophobic.
ITEM 2: The Hill reported, "The Department of Justice on Friday asked a federal appeals court to reconsider a case in which President Trump was told he could not legally block people on Twitter from seeing his tweets.
"The DOJ’s Friday court filing requests a rehearing from the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, which has not yet said whether it will hear the case, CNN reported.
"In the filing, the DOJ argued that Trump — whose personal Twitter account is not owned by the federal government and which was used by Trump for years prior to taking office — should be able to choose who accesses and interacts with his account, according to CNN.
"'An official’s decision to exclude someone from his personal residence would not exercise the authority of the government, even if he were giving official statements on that property on that day,' the court filing reportedly reads. 'And what is true for real property is likewise true for a social media account.'"
"The lawsuit added that the First Amendment 'does not warrant this type of judicial superintendence of personal social media accounts owned by public officials.'"
Judicial superintendence.
The Founding Fathers never intended to make the president subservient to the judiciary any more than they intended to make judges subservient to the president.
ITEM 3: Market Watch reported, "There are three negative supply shocks that could trigger a global recession by 2020. All of them reflect political factors affecting international relations, two involve China, and the United States is at the center of each.
"Moreover, none of them is amenable to the traditional tools of counter cyclical macroeconomic policy."
Oddly enough this supply-chain dependency is why we must wage this battle because if we get into a war with Red China, we are screwed.
ITEM 4: The Hill reported, "In the weeks since a deadly mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, Latino lawmakers have come forward publicly to denounce Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) for his language that they say is 'dangerous' for the state's immigrant communities."
The governor tweeted, "5 liberals on the Supreme Court ruled that Texas had to provide and fund public education for illegal immigrants. The next decade, in Texas v. U. S., Federal courts rejected our lawsuit that the federal government should pay for that education cost."
How is that dangerous?
This comes from a party of people who routinely blast President Trump as Hitler and dehumanize his supporters. Disagreeing with people over who pays the bill (which is what the tweet does) is not dangerous.
What is dangerous is continuing to divide Americans along ethnic lines. They are not Latino lawmakers. They are Texas lawmakers. A house divided cannot stand. Democrats must want the house to collapse, just as they did in 1861.
ITEM 5: Michio Hasai reported, "The business of promoting Democrats and bashing on President Trump, also known as progressive legacy media, has achieved new levels of failure for CNN. Their highest rated show on cable news rankings was Cuomo Prime Time. It ranked 27th.
"Also included on CNN’s resume of shame is the fact that the bottom 12 of the 52 shows rated belonged to them."
Fredo is the best they can do.
Andy McCabe is their next best hope.
CNN, America's most Trumpenfreuded channel.
ITEM 6:

OK, I was wrong about Matt Drudge.
It is not just robots in space that he obsesses over.
ITEM 7: The Washington Times reported, "The Justice Department proposed changes to the immigration court system Friday that would give more power to the agency’s political leadership.
"Under the new rules, the director of the Executive Office of Immigration Review would have the power to personally decide the longest-running cases.
"The interim rule would also limit the power of EOIR’s general counsel to influence immigration judges’ decisions, a department official said in previewing the new policy for reporters.
"EOIR is the agency that hears deportation cases from illegal immigrants nabbed in the interior of the U.S."
More power to the agency’s political leadership means accountability. No more Deep State deciding who enters and who does not.
ITEM 8: 100% Fed Up reported, "In 2003, Vanity Fair published 'Talented Mr. Epstein,' a flattering piece that brags about his relationships with accused sexual predators Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey."
Oh? The story was by Vicky Ward.
David Folkenflik of NPR reported, "This summer, she told NPR's Morning Edition she wanted to pinpoint the source of Epstein's wealth and to figure out why very young women were always spotted around him.
"Ward interviewed two sisters, Maria and Annie Farmer. They alleged Epstein and his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, lured them into his orbit for sexual exploitation. (Maxwell denies this and all related allegations.)
"Maria, an aspiring artist, alleged Epstein and Maxwell sexually assaulted her together in an Ohio apartment. Annie was just 15 years old, the sisters allege, when Epstein sexually assaulted her at his vast New Mexico ranch. (Maria later detailed these allegations in an affidavit for a lawsuit filed in 2019.)"
That story never made the magazine. Truth to power is a media myth. Look at how MSNBC spiked Ronan Farrow's expose on Harvey Weinstein.
ITEM 9: The Washington Free Beacon reported, "MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing referred to a Louisiana Republican's belief that there are only two genders as incendiary."
As I predicted would happen the other day.
Over time, the perversions Epstein and Weinsteins indulge in no longer satisfy them. They need little boys dressed as girls. Nothing sates the possessed. The media placates them and their delusions.
ITEM 10: The New York Post reported, "A man wanted in a Manhattan ‘hate crime’ spree against white pedestrians has been taken into custody and charged with three of the incidents, police sources said.
"Todd Lyons, 33, was picked up late Friday night at his West 36th Street home by detectives with the Hate Crimes Task Force."
I sure hope this is a one-off cashew and not a sign of things to come.
ITEM 11: Grabien reported, "The United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit on Friday ruled that Minnesota may not compel videographers to produce wedding videos for same-sex weddings, as it would infringe on their First Amendment rights to free speech.
"In a 2-1 decision penned by Circuit Court Judge David Ryan Stras, the court wrote that wedding videos 'are a form of speech that is entitled to First Amendment protection. The Supreme Court long ago recognized that expression by means of motion pictures is included within the free speech and free press guaranty of the First and Fourteenth Amendments.'"
President Trump appointed Judge Stras. He's 45 and good to go another 30 years.
ITEM 12: The Daily Mail reported, "Boris Johnson will throw down the gauntlet to Brussels by vowing to withhold £30 billion of our 'divorce bill' to punish the EU for refusing to rip up their Brexit deal.
"The Prime Minister – making a combative first appearance on the international stage since entering Downing Street – is expected to tell EU leaders at the G7 summit in Biarritz that the £39 billion bill agreed by Theresa May will be cut to £9 billion – or even as little as £7 billion – by the UK.
"Mr Johnson also fired a warning salvo at Donald Trump ahead of a breakfast meeting with the US President today by complaining that restrictive American rules on products such as 'pork pies, cauliflowers and shower trays' were a barrier to a post-Brexit trade deal between the two countries."
Surely that last part was in jest.
But if Brexit depends upon me, I will end my boycott of cauliflower.
ITEM 13: The Hill reported, "The National Farmers Union on Friday hammered President Trump over his escalating trade war with China, saying he is 'making things worse.'"
The NFU is a liberal front that gave Obama a 100% score in 2008 and McCain zero.
But the union is correct. President Trump is making things worse -- for Red China.
