In addition to SLB news, Diamond Offshore (DO) missed its number this a.m. Oil prices down, Asian markets a mess and U.S. market in a downdraft. Other than that I can't figure out NE's weakness. Ron Clark

In addition to SLB missing (citing industry wide concerns about Asia), and DO missing (citing co. specific problems w/ regulatory survey required rig downtime), crude oil prices tanked bigtime on the news of mounting U.S. inventory levels. >>OTOH, perhaps these stocks are affected by the disclosures about the president's affair. They are DRILLING stocks, after all. (GGGG) mph<< Au contraire! This news should have been positive for the sector, since it indicates that the rising demand for drilling services has not tapered off<g>.
