Heidelberg is sitting on a big inventory of kits. That is why PRST stated the following in their recent letter to shareholders.

"However, the backlog that existed for the Quickmaster DI has
recently been filled and the Company's future Quickmaster imaging kit
production will be based on Heidelberg's ongoing worldwide order rate and inventory levels. This may result in the Company's future revenues from its Quickmaster imaging kit being subject to unpredictable quarterly fluctuations. "

My best sources indicate 350-400 paid for QM-DI's installed. The recent DPx article, which PRST was quick to request corrections from the magazine for an error on plate price increases said nothing about the sentance which followed immediately: "The increase will affect about 175 QM-DI and 80 GTO-DI U.S. users." If that is an accurate figure, then Heidelberg will shortly have some 600 kits in inventory. Assuming 300 installs a year, that is two years. By then I believe Heidelberg will be working more closely with Kodak and Creo under their J/V agreements signed last year.
