As usual, the report may be interpreted in various ways. At the first glance, fab postponements make 98 more difficult for equipment makers. On the other hand, improvement in 16Mb DRAM prices will accelerate the crossover to 64Mb - some analysts predict that 64Mb will become price-competitive as early as 2Q98. Once this happens, everybody will get more optimistic about .25 equipment sales.
