Paul,

A 300 MHz chip might run ok at 350 (beyond spec and out-of-warranty, but my guess is that many would run ok).

A 233 MHz chip running at 200 MHz (but with a 100 MHz bus vs. a 66 MHz bus at 233 MHz) might give faster overall performance ???????

Your thoughts ?

Paul -

Since the Merced will allow Intel access to a new market space, I'm assuming that the majority of Merced's unit shipments will be incremental. Given that Merced's sales shouldn't cannibalize PII shipments, this implies the need for additional fabs for Merced production. Will Intel's production be capacity constrained once they start shipping Merced?
