That did NOT answer my question. Many people know quite a bit about 5G and they do NOT pimp for the Chinese all across SI What's in it for you?

I find the claim in your first sentence laughable.

Jamie,
I probably know more about 5G than anyone else on SI. I also posted a link so people can judge the source for themselves.
Posting a link doesn't prove your supposed superiority in 5G knowledge.

I haven't seen any proof that the trade war is about 5G. AFAIK, that's just you imposing your narrative upon current events.

There is plenty of evidence that China is the leader in developing the surveillance state. Even the protesters in Hong Kong are resorting to open-source cryptology in order to circumvent government control.

But America doesn't need to wage a trade war to counter Huawei's push into 5G. All America needs to do is commit to technology and free market principles. Trade wars run counter to that.
