[TI vs. SSPIF]

<<<TI is calling itself a leader in DSP solutions. Is this in direct competition with SSPIF? Isn't that the area that SSPIF specializes in? >>>

Picture TI's DSP core in one hand and the OEM's DSP specific needs in the other hand. Now bring the two together? What's missing? That's what Spectrum brings: specific solutions built onto the core to meet customers' needs. Another analogy I like comes from the building industry. Amati built on spec --- hoping there'd be customers for their products. Spectrum builds custom --- having already determined what the customer needs. TI provides the foundation, or the land if you want to stick with the analogy.

Based on TI's recent acquisitions, it appears they're aiming to have a one-stop shop. Could Spectrum be on their list? Beats me.
