*AV* --SFAM, IPEC, LRCX, and NANX all play a role in CMP as enabling pieces of equipment or chemical suppliers. CMP hasn't taken off as fast as it should have. However, it is an eventuality that cannot be dosciunted. Climbing onboard these stocks now and viewing them as 2-3 investments will absolutely pay off for those invested. Short term trading is still very grey area for these guys. Jim Bagley of LRCX on yesterday's conference call has become a 3-4 quarter bear for the sector. Admittedly he is taking the approach of under promising and trying to outdelvier on his promise. I guess he wants to make 100% sure LRCX is not saddled with a shareholder lawsuit down the road. Pretty cool on his part, dontcha think??? Between SFAM and IPEC as the pure players, my vote is more heavily in favor of IPEC. However, it is a 66%/33% ratio right now. On the subject of VECO: there is the rub with investing. I didn't like it back in the 20s and you did. It is now back there from its high 30s pricing. Without any money on the table it is difficult to determine if one would have gotten out prior to the plunge in price or just suffer the roller coaster effect. It is hard to keep track of without entry and exit strategies. But on the bright side, I have been watching it closely enough that it is part of my universe. I am still analyzing it as a possible purchase this time around but I am not convinced yet. After all, it did go to the high 30s before the drop. Why not do it again. Only issue is the DD industry and some other businesses they are engaged in that might be adversely affected in this uncertain environment. It is dfinitely a 2nd or 3rd tier player relative to the likes of AMAT, NVLS, and ASMLF. Tough crowd, these MM mongers (Hey, MM now stands for Market Mongers) or better yet M4 (Malevolent Market Money Mongers), especially now that talk of an impeachment might rattle the market a bit. BTW-According to Jay Leno, Vice President Al Gore is one orgasm away from the presidency. Andrew
