I spent the day at CENEX at Millbrook a couple of days ago. Electric vehicle show.

Interesting discussions and many permutations of plans on display.
Including hydrogen.

My boss in 1986 in BP Oil International was a hydrogen fan back in the early 1970s when he was a Shell bloke. I couldn't see and still can't that hydrogen will be a winner. It's too expensive to produce, too hard to deliver, and the cars are a complex menagerie of difficulty.

Toyota had their beautifully engineered hydrogen car cruising around.

I prefer a small battery on board with one or two motors. Load up on electricity from big, fixed, efficient generators with cable delivery to recharge points.

Such generators can use anything from heavy tars, coal or methane ro nuclear reactors of thorium or fusion kind, with photovoltaics, wind, waves, hydro or geothermal with no CO2 into air using Mqs patented (now expired) CO2 liquid deep ocean sequestration process.

Toyota is barking up the wrong tree. But they do have lots of electric cars with batteries so can easily go any direction.

The price of H2 will drop to below $1/kg very soon. It is easy to separate from his beloved O.in several ways which I prefer not to advertise on SI. In general H2O is a polarised molecule and therefore easy to tear it apart.
More so this what I wrote and stand by it as every organic molecule contains also Hydrogen and definitely hydrocarbons the trick how to separate it and it is easy if you know what your are doing.
Even more interesting is a diluted H2O2 also called peroxide.


The O-O group in a peroxide is called the peroxide group or peroxo group. In contrast to oxide ions, the oxygen atoms in the peroxide ion have an oxidation state of -1. The most common peroxide is hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), colloquially known simply as "peroxide".



Saw scientific papers that extract 1 kg of H2 with a mere 7 kwh in setups of abandoned oilfields or shale oil the price can easily drop to below 50 cents/Kg

With the new technologies, many NG developments are not sustainable at high financial leverage ratio as NG will need to meet the H2 energy price ratio to be competitive which is about $1.20 to $1.30 per million BTU


The Bazhenov Formation with its 1.2 to 1.3 trillion barrels in reserve, will also generate substantial amounts of hydrogen at below $1/kg whose energy content is up to 142 MJ/kg compared to 50 to 55 MJ/kg for CH4 whose combined cycle efficiency is around 60% compared to over 86% in H2 combined-cycle electrical power station and NO emission of CO2 or CH4 pollution.


Further Russia will realize that export electrical power over VHVDC electrical power lines to Europe is much more economical compared to conventional NG pipelines.


Due to technological advances, many high leveraged NG or crude oil projects are doomed to failure, and it is about time to realize NG and crude oil is a goner and polluting solution, definitely, if the gas originates below a salt dome.
