I'm not even sure what that means. I've never turned on my own. I also don't view Cubans as the only one's I have empathy for. The whole of the Hispanic immigrant population has my empathy. However, I was taught that you must have respect for your hosts and you must adapt to your host country. We fled Cuba, because it was INFERIOR to the US. We came here to adopt the US culture and way of life, not to change it into the shitty Cuban Socialist/Communist way of life.
  • That is my same message to all Latin Americans. Come here, yes, but do it LEGALLY, and leave your bad ideas about government in the places you fled. Adopt our US Republic and Capitalism. Work hard and realize that the rewards may not come in your lifetime, but if you do what is right for your children, the rewards will come in their lifetime. That was my experience. My parents didn't end up with much, but they gave my brother and I the world.
  • My message to the US Congress is this. Rework the laws of our country to be more welcoming to immigrants from Latin America, who are 99% Catholic and share conservative values. Find a way to let the non-criminals in more quickly and absorb them into the tax rolls. Most just want to work and follow the law, but the laws don't always make sense and the backlog of applications is too long. The US need immigrants to make up for the lack of kids being born, so that the welfare Ponzi scheme continues to work. Immigrants can fill that gap.
  • My message to Democrats is you are not helping. Virtue signaling makes you feel good, but it does nothing to help hispanic immigrants get here safely and legally and to assimilate once they are here. Open Borders doesn't work and destroys what is good about your own country. Don't encourage law breaking, because it turns immigrants into ILLEGALS, when what they want more than anything is acceptance and the dignity that comes from doing things the right way. Don't turn immigrants into another dependent identity political group, because that treats them like slaves, instead of human beings.
