Doug, obviously the stock was purchased in the open market.
I have never heard of a company going out into the open market to buy
their own stock as a "bonus" to an employee. I would think that if
the shares were some sort of bonus given by the company, it would
have either been given as a stock option, or they would have given "treasury" stock (which would be a lot cheaper than buying in the open market).

Just my opinion.
