Because it would not happen overnight. The timespan maybe less than blink of an eye in geological terms. But it would still happen over a period of decades. So at worst, you will have a degressing lifestyle. But it will not be anything like dropping off a city slicker in middle of the Andes.

The heat would be magnified by the urban heat effect, Jut one small fraction of the main attraction on why we are headed the wrong way.. with mass transit etc...

Most of us--the vast majority of us--weren't

A societal problem to be sure... raising my kids I taught them many things.. My son hats gardening.. but he can set up a great garden plot for food easy peasy.. He may thank me some day.. I thank my dad many times...
