We may be warm enough in 10-20 years for more Sandy type hurricanes to hit New York and other coastal northern cities.

Or even worse than Sandy. And they would almost certainly be worse below the Mason-Dixon line.

Ah! Now it makes more sense. I missed that part and just thought it to be a global warming story (maybe the transformers can't work in that much heat).

I suppose a solar flare could do an even bigger job than an EMP.
