I don't believe that, every human being in a free society can make their own choice, you are what you are, you sound like we are around the same age. there were no known gays when i went to school, there were probably many but fear of coming out kept them hidden, my very first encounter with a gay person did not go well for him, I was hanging a round a night club with my buddy and this guy was irritating some girls outside, then he walks up to me and says He is gay and proud of it, I told him to get out of my face twice, he mumbled something about his rights to stand where he wanted so I knocked him out, now if a straight guy got in my face like he did the same thing would have happened. I was young with a bad temper that didn't take shit from anybody, Later on in life my best friend owned a construction company and he had many dealings with male and female gays, I got to know some and most were good people, the fear of the unknown scares a lot of people. If I had a gay kid would I prefer they were straight, the answer is yes, but I would still love and support them anyway.
